Great Slave Lakeside B&B is a fully licensed, private bed and breakfast in the heart of Yellowknife's Old Town. Located directly on Great Slave Lake, the suite is self contained and includes a private entrance. The suite offers lovely views of the lake and Aurora Borealis. Wildlife are common and includes sightings of magpies, ravens, squirrels, rabbits and sometimes even marten and fox. The private B&B studio is modern and bright with newly painted walls and beautiful hardwood floors. The suite is made up of three rooms: one large room that houses a king sized bed, queen sized sofa bed and living area. The kitchenette has a bar sized fridge/freezer, induction plates, toaster oven and microwave. Self-serve coffee and tea are provided in the unit as well as continental cold breakfast options for your enjoyment. The private bathroom has a claw foot tub and separate shower. A west facing deck and sitting area allows for a beautiful midnight sun experience. The non-smoking space is 600 square feet and it is ideal for a couple, 3 adults or a young family of four. All amenities including linens, towels and bathroom toiletries are provided.
We have wanted to open a B&B for some time in Yellowknife. Blair and I were both born and raised in Yellowknife and sharing our community with others just feels natural. We all enjoy spending time outdoors whether we are camping, fishing (summer and winter), snowmobiling, hiking, boating and swimming. You will have time to browse the many activity and attraction brochures at your leisure upon arrival. Or talk to us, we can help you get set up with what to do and where to go.
Great Slave Lakeside B&B is located close to some of Yellowknife’s best restaurants and shops. For instance, a 10 minute walk will get you to Bullock’s Bistro, a unique restaurant that is famous for its Great Slave Lake fish and chips or Weaver & Devore Trading Co. which has a great selection of winter gear including Canada Goose parkas. Also nearby, is the NWT Brewing Company which serves pub food and locally brewed beer. Down to Earth Gallery, which is next door, features beautiful, jewelry, arts and crafts made by local artisans. The Old Town is also very well-known for its colorful houseboat community and Pilot’s Monument which presents views of the city skyline, Great Slave Lake and northern landscape. In the summer, you can watch the float planes while dining on the deck of the Wildcat Café, Yellowknife’s first and most iconic restaurants in the North. Downtown Yellowknife offers many other shops and restaurants.
