Our one- and two-bedroom oceanfront cottages all have front and side decks overlooking a gorgeous view of the Bay of Fundy and Burntcoat Head Park with its historic lighthouse. Set amidst acres of rolling green hills, we offer a quiet, peaceful environment to relax and unwind while you watch the ebb and flow of the world’s highest recorded tides. Our location is ideal for photographers, star-gazers, bird-watchers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds…plus with our west-facing exposure, we’re famous for our spectacular sunsets!

Shangri-La Cottages is located right next to Burntcoat Head Park and is Nova Scotia’s only accommodation at the site of the highest recorded tides. From the comfort of your cottage, you can watch the ebb and flow of the tides in the Bay of Fundy. At Burntcoat Head, we hold the record of a 53.5 foot tidal change from low to high…that’s taller than a 5-story building! The tides in the Bay of Fundy are semi-diurnal, so there are two high tides and two low tides every day. Approximately every 6 hours and 13 minutes, you can witness this dramatic change. Enjoy the high tide phenomenon or take a walk on the ocean floor at low tide – its all at the doorstep of your cottage. It will fill you with a sense of peace that you won’t soon forget!
