The hosts are delighted to invite you into their new home. Moving here from Vancouver and England, they have been enhancing the charm of the building by updating the rooms to show the traditional qualities but modernizing the key comfort areas such as the beds, bathrooms, technology and other amenities. They live on site and can be as available or private as you like

Property info

Built for the Doctor of the Charlotte County militia in 1859, the Montague Rose Bed and Breakfast has been operating since 2008. With new ownership in 2021, the building is being carefully restored with modern comforts added to each room in the house. The 5000 square foot building sits on one of the last remaining quarter lot blocks in downtown Saint Andrews. It shares a city block with the Charlotte County Archives and historic jail.

Neighborhood info

Downtown Saint Andrews is a seaside wonderland. Plenty of deer at all times of the day. The Montague Rose is located 350 metres from the downtown core and 250 metres to Water Street. It is less than a 5 minute walk to the shops. Only two blocks from all amenities and attractions, in this quaint seaside town, including the water front and the main shopping area with its numerous restaurants art galleries and boutiques. The Montague Rose was built in 1859 by Dr Samuel Tilley Gove, assistant surgeon to the Charlotte County Militia; he was also president of the Bank of Charlotte County. The house still retains the massive interior wood moldings and hand applied plaster crown moldings. Although modernized the home still exudes charm and hospitality.
