Täsch is the last village before Zermatt that is accessible by car, so please do not drive further than Täsch, otherwise you will receive a fine :( Unfortunately, Täsch itself doesn’t offer many dining or nightlife options, however, the shuttle train from Täsch train station to Zermatt runs throughout the night, allowing you to easily enjoy the dining and nightlife options in nearby Zermatt. Restaurants in Täsch: - Täscherhof - Swiss food near the station. - Charisma - Kebabs and fast food (closed Mondays) - Schali Lago - At the Schallisee. Open for lunch and drinks until 6pm (summer only). - Schiirli Restaurant - At the golf course. Open for lunch and drinks until 6pm (summer only). - Ribis & Stibis at Matterhorn Inn: New restaurant with a variety of dishes including regional specialities like fondue. TÄSCH WALKING SUGGESTIONS The Panoramaweg. A slightly up and down 45 minute loop from the apartment. Walk towards the church and take the small road going left at the bins. Cross the river and take the footpath right 50m further up the road. This traverses along the hillside and takes you south of the village before descending to the road. Cross the road, train track and river and turn right back to the campsite. Cross the river after the campsite and follow the road back to Haus Flora. Schallisee loop (flat). Walk past the station and turn right to cross the river by the campsite. Turn right and follow the path to Schallisee. Walk around the Schallisee and cross back over the river at the first bridge to return to the north end of the village and follow the road back to Haus Flora. To Täschalp: There are two walking paths up to Täschalp. Both are steep. The trail east from the church is fairly direct. The trail up from the north end of the village takes you to the Europaweg. Turn right and follow this into Täschalp. It is a 700m ascent to Täschalp and the hike takes approximately 2-3 hours.
