Casa Monika Monte Generoso is situated at 1070 meters above sea level, in a quiet, remote location surrounded by nature. Enjoy the panoramic view and the tranquillity of the 2-room vacation apartment with terrace and kitchen. From here you can experience beautiful hikes and bike tours in the mountain landscape with various panoramic views and idyllic beech forests of Monte Generoso. The two-room apartment consists of : - Separate entrance via the communal terrace - Bathroom with shower in bathtub - Double bed 180 cm wide - Sofa bed 140 cm wide - Parking space on the property - Access to the seating area in the garden possible Kitchen: - fully equipped kitchen - Please note: there's only a mini oven on request! ATTENTION: - Our check-in time also applies to self-check-in! Outside of these times, self-check-in is only possible by arrangement with the host. - Please note that the nearest grocery shops are in Mendrisio or, if you are travelling by train, in Capolago-Riva San Vitale.
We live on the first floor of the house and look forward to welcoming you to our cozy vacation apartments on the second floor.
By PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The cog railway connects Capolago-Riva San Vitale with the summit of Monte Generoso. To reach our accommodation, please get off at the ‘Bellavista’ stop. From there it is a one-hour walk to our house called ‘Casa Monika Monte Generoso’. If you wish, we can pick you up by car near the restaurant ‘La Peonia’. To get to the meeting point, a 15-minute walk through the forest is required. By CAR: The accommodation is about 30 minutes from Mendrisio (13 km) and can be reached by car via a narrow, asphalted and winding mountain road. Only the last 100 metres are on a dirt road. Please note that the mountain road is partly single-lane. If another vehicle comes towards you, it may be necessary to reverse a little in order to find a suitable passing place. RESTAURANTS on the mountain (distance from the accommodation): - Grotto Ristorante La Balduana (850m) - Agriturismo Dosso dell'Ora (500m) - Osteria La Peonia (3.2km) - Ristorante Buffet Bellavista (4.1km, the last kilometre only accessible on foot) - Ristorante Alpe di Caviano (3 km, only accessible on foot) - Ristorante-Grotto Eremo S. Nicolao (9.6 km) - Restaurant at the top of Monte Generoso: See website ‘Ferrovia Monte Generoso’ for the mountain railway
