Exclusively for adults, Serenity Villas is a boutique beachfront retreat on Rarotonga's quiet western sunset coast, offering couples a genuinely private, unhurried escape. Seven villas in total — Beachfront, Garden, and Grand Garden — each spacious, self-contained, and thoughtfully appointed, with air conditioning, a private outdoor shower in your own courtyard, fully equipped kitchen, and a large covered verandah.
Beachfront villas sit just steps from the white sand; Garden and Grand Garden villas offer a quieter, greener seclusion among lush tropical plantings. We're Mana Tiaki eco-certified, with solar contributing to our energy use, and triple-filtered, UV-treated water available throughout — refill freely, no need for plastic bottles. Starlink internet runs throughout too — fast enough when you need it, easy to forget when you don't.
Minimum age is 18, with a no-visitors policy, so the pool, gardens, and beachfront stay quiet and exclusive to in-house guests. The beach itself is just steps away — perfect for a swim, a snorkel over the lagoon's tropical fish, or simply watching the sun go down with a cocktail in hand.
Locally Owned. Lovingly Operated. Serenity Villas is run directly by the two of us rather than a managed company — we opened our doors in 2018 with a simple goal: to give couples a genuinely private, beautifully kept corner of Rarotonga to call their own, even just for a week or two.
We're hands-on without being intrusive. You'll often see us around the property — tending the gardens, keeping things ship-shape — but we're careful never to get in the way of your stay. There's no front desk, no day-guest traffic, and no rush — just a warm welcome pack ahead of your arrival, and a phone in your villa if you ever need us for urgent issues.
We genuinely enjoy getting to know our guests, and many return again and again — some have been coming back for years. If there's anything that would make your stay better, we'd love to hear it; this is our home, and we want it to feel like yours too while you're here.
Serenity sits on Rarotonga's western sunset side, right next to the Anchorage Restaurant & Bar, with a popular local bakery just across the road. A handful of other restaurants and cafés are an easy walk away, with more just a short drive.
Black Rock Beach is just 800 metres away — a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive — and Rarotonga's lagoon offers excellent snorkelling right from our stretch of sand. Between July and October, the western coast is also one of the best places on the island to spot humpback whales, often visible right from the shore.
Just 400 metres away — a 5-minute walk — Rarotonga Brewery, opposite the Edgewater Resort, is well worth a stop during the day (open 10am–6pm) for a tasting of their locally crafted beers, cider, and kombucha. The island is small and easy to explore — by foot, bike, scooter, or car — with the airport just a short drive away.
But many guests never need to go far at all — our own stretch of reef is home to an abundance of colourful tropical fish, and snorkelling right out front is one of the most-loved parts of staying with us.
