As a Rarotongan, I may be biased, but the island is truly stunning and offers plenty of activities for all ages. To get the most out of your visit, I’d recommend planning your days in advance. Raro Buggies and the Koka Cruise are must-do experiences and were the highlights of our stay. I would have loved to hire an electric bike and cycle around the island as well, but I ran out of time. I’ll definitely be doing that on my next visit.

We recently stayed at Kura's Kabanas and it exceeded our expectations. It was exactly the low-key, no-frills accommodation we were looking for.
The location is fantastic, right on the lagoon with direct water access. The kabanas are tucked away at the quieter end of the lagoon, past the sailing club, which made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. We loved having complimentary kayaks available to explore the lagoon.
The staff were friendly and helpful with any requests, and our room was clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent, with great water pressure.
If you're looking for a luxury resort with lots of facilities, this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you want a more traditional island experience with a relaxed atmosphere and very few guests, Kura's Kabanas is perfect. There are only a handful of kabanas, so it never feels crowded.
There isn't an on-site restaurant, so it's worth planning ahead if you'd like to prepare your own meals or head out for dinner. Fortunately, there are plenty of fantastic dining options around the island

Rarotonga has all that you need for a pacific winter holiday. Restaurants are amazing, great selection for all price ranges.
Suggest hiring a car, just so you have more freedom to get out and about to explore all the different beaches and other resorts.
The Saturday market is a must do, always something happening at every turn and smells of all the different food gets your taste buds going.

The place is incredible; I was surprised by how well-maintained and clean it is, and everyone is very friendly. The weather is delightful. It's easy to get around by bus, car, or motorbike. I recommend eating at the markets; the food is incredible. The tour with KOKA highly recommended.

Great time snorkelling with the turtles - this is a must do. Very safe and well guided. If you get a chance head on up to the SPCA and walk the dogs up to the waterfall - for a small donation. And you can't go past the bucket-sized cocktails on the beachfront at Muri !

The roosters are a bit loud especially early morning.
Loved Charlie’s & the night market & the Taco place up the road.
So easy to get around Rarotonga but glad we had hired a car so no waiting for bus.
Looking forward to returning again.

The Rarotongan exceeded anything we could imagine. The photos do not give it justice. The staff were acceptionally helpful and just super lovely to deal with. We had everything at the resort that we needed for all swimming activities including paddle boards and kayaks. would definitely come back to the Rarotongan as its an amazing resort for families

My husband and I had such an amazing stay at the Muri Bungalows. Great communication with the team, excellent facilities and such prime location! It was a bonus that we could access the pool and the beauty & spa of Muri Beach Club Hotel. Definitely would stay here again, thank you for making our trip so memorable!

Fantastic view, good location for sightseeing, calm and peaceful, excellent amenities and very responsive and helpful host. The beach towels were so plush as well. Ideal for us as we hired a car. This was the best accommodation of our entire holidays in the Cook islands.

The Villa was amazing and accomodated my family perfectly. My mums first time back to the Cook Islands after 40 plus years. My mum was so amazed and loved every bit of her stay with Te Kopa Villas. I highly recommend booking your stay at Te Kopa Villas.
