Imagine a beautiful wooden house, right on a perfect Caribbean beach, complete with palm trees and exquisite weather. Imagine your own private balcony to sit and watch the waves and enjoy the feel of the sun on your body. Imagine a place to relax, breathe, read a good book, meditate and enjoy nature - far from the madding crowd. Imagine a place with warm, friendly hosts whose only desire is that you truly love your time at Casa Maya.
My name is Maya. I am English/Indian and Caleña (from Cali) at heart. Together with my husband Jahir, and Pacha, our dog, we have built much more than a house - Casa Maya is a long-held dream made real. It is our home, built with love, and we want you, too, to feel that this is your home away from home.
Playa Mendihuaca is a place to enjoy natural beauty, comfort and peace and quiet - it's not a party place. If the sea is too rough, you can enjoy the river just 100 metres away which is like a giant swimming pool. There, you can go kayaking and if you're feeling more energetic there are several good surf schools. If you don't feel like cooking at home, there are some good restaurants and a couple of beach bars. Playa Mendihuaca is truly safe: many of the houses don't even have doors - something that is remarkable for Colombia, and indeed, anywhere.
