Property info

Villa del Prado is a family-run house that is part of the architectural heritage of Medellín, located in Prado Centro. The house has been recently remodeled in its entirety, maintaining architectural characteristics and original spaces. Entering the villa is like jumping back in time. The details in carved wood and wrought iron are witnesses of another era where time flowed slowly and create a unique, quiet and very pleasant space, particularly with a living room completely wood decorated. It has many common areas that are available to guests in particular with a lounge, two covered patios with tables for breakfast, an external patio with low tables as well as a panoramic terrace where you can have a glass of wine or a beer by night.

Neighborhood info

Prado neighborhood represents the architectural heritage of Medellín. Several decades ago it was the neighborhood of the rich, since Prado was developed between 1910 and 1940 by private owners. There the republican architecture was pride for people of the upper class. Those who wanted an unique space from the rest of the city came to this neighborhood. It was the expression of the "Antioquian dream" of a classy sector that saw in the Greek columns and palaces, the reproduction of a lavish ideology of European origin. Almost everything that is preserved in Prado is worth seeing. It tells stories. Convey emotions. There are sitting lions and bohemian dormers. Turrets and mansions that seem inhabited by ancient ghosts. Its ancient splendor still shines through in many of its palaces, sometimes unlikely. Its lush trees still harvest birds. Strolling through its areas is an experience, to enter another time, the days when the highly encumbered families of the city's elite built the sector in a conjunction of exquisiteness and comfort. And it continues to be, despite its bohemian appearance, a “ dream neighborhood”.
