Guests have access to a shared pool, an open-air rancho with bar seating, and a backyard firepit nestled among the trees. Each home is thoughtfully designed for comfort and simplicity. You'll have a fully equipped kitchen, hot water, essential toiletries, and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. The house includes two private bedrooms, each with its own air conditioning unit to keep you comfortable at night.

Hi, I'm Julien. I'm from Quebec, Canada and Karolina is from Nicaragua. I fell in love with the latin culture in 2011, as I made my first travel to Peru. I visited many countries, before deciding to settle in Costa Rica, the land of Pura Vida. For months, I had been looking for the perfect place to live, immersed in nature and by the sea, when I finally found the lot on which we developed Monkey Houses. At first, all I wanted was to live here, but the project evolved as I wanted to share this unknown gem with other people. I met Karolina only a few months after the construction project started, and together we developed Monkey Houses into what they are today. Karolina and I are both very sociable. As a writer and translator for 10 years, I long dreamt of having the life I have now, making a living out of meeting new people and making sure our guests have unique experiences they'll remember for the rest of their lives. We now live just a few minutes away from Monkey Houses, but we come down here almost daily to make sure the place is always tidy and that our guests have everything they need... And also, because we just love it here. We can't wait to show you our piece of paradise!

The neighborhood is just like a dream! While being located only 2 kilometers from the famous Hotel Riu Guanacaste, Monkey Houses are one of only 5 properties in the whole area spanning numerous square kilometers The level of peace of nature immersion is absolutely unparalleled, especially with the new green area that we developed behind the houses. A 2-minute walk is all it takes for a privileged access to Playa Matapalo, the same beach where the famous Hotel Riu is, just 2 kilometers away. Two other stunning beaches - Playa Blanca and Playa Laguna - are also easily accessible at a 5-minute walk and 15-minute drive respectively. All three beaches have a very private feel to them, as they're often completely empty or with very few people due to the fact this area is still little known. You get a profound sense of isolation and privacy, yet two excellent restaurants are just 10 minutes away walking, and stores are accessible with a 10-minute drive. Most importantly, our neighbors them monkeys visit us regularly, and so do exotic birds, horses and even deers, when we're lucky. That's truly heaven on Earth!
