It was always what we wanted to do, return to Cyprus and live in the house my husband, and our children were born in! Hoping one day our grandchildren would be able to know and appreciate life in Cyprus. A definite challenge keeping the 'old' and utilizing current technology! The do compliment each other. Keeping tradition alive!

Come, met us and you will see.... different countries, cultures and enjoying what we bring from them. Also, being able to do things you couldn't when you were or where you were....we appreciate the land and enjoy 'foraging' for wild mushrooms, asparagus, wild flowers and so many things most of us take for granted. Wood collected for the fire place, sometimes sit in front of it as a table, because it had such character and olive has a lovely aroma when you work with it! Some pieces look so unique and with a little help I can make it a fish or a dog-whatever I thought it looked like or when working with the wood whatever it decides to show itself to be. Worse comes to worse we will have things to burn when we can no longer go and bring home wood for the fireplace-or just use the underfloor heating!. We like to eat fresh, so we eat what we grow. As our fruit trees are kind to us marmalade and preserves are made. Vegetables and herbs from the garden are used for our table and our guests love it-so do we! For some reason we eat every day and so I cook every day and enjoy making bread. Nothing like hot fresh home made bread with dinner!

Our immediate neighborhood is the village, quite small and tranquil. We enjoy being out doors most of the year, always a sunny place in the winter and a cool place in the summer. Vavla Village enjoys an excellent location. In the car and you are on the motorway in 8 minutes and the beach in 14 more. Swim, walk, sunbath, enjoy the beautiful sea. Return to the village. No need to have all the noise, hustle , bustle and smells of the city all and every day. You can go anywhere quickly and easily. Sunrises are gorgeous and compete with the magnificent star studded night sky. I do not have to choose -but enjoy both! Come visit and see for yourself!
