Kempten is a city in Bavaria, Germany. It is in the Allgäu, a region in the Bavarian Alps. Kempten is the largest town in the Allgäu and has a rich history dating back to Roman times. Here is some information about the area around Kempten: Nature: The area around Kempten is characterized by a beautiful alpine landscape. There are numerous mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers that are ideal for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities. Popular excursion destinations include the Grünten, the Immenstädter Horn and the Alpsee. Cultural sights: Kempten itself has some interesting cultural sights to offer. These include the Cambodunum archaeological park area, the Kempten town hall, the St. Lorenz Basilica and the Allgäu Museum. The Kempten monastery is also worth a visit.
