Hi! We're Marvin and Marcel, two brothers who grew up together. Back then, we competed against each other in video games in our shared childhood bedroom. Today, we channel that same energy into creating accommodations where we would love to stay ourselves. When we're not renovating or working on new ideas, you'll most likely find us at an Asian buffet—because great food is definitely one of our biggest passions. Welcome to the Lohnhalle at Zeche Bonifacius, a place where the history of Germany's Ruhr region meets modern design. What was once the payroll hall where miners received their wages has been transformed into stylish Industrial Design Studios within a listed historic building full of character. During the renovation, we intentionally preserved elements of the site's industrial heritage and combined them with contemporary furniture, warm lighting, and high-quality amenities. The result is a unique space that honors the building's history while offering the comfort of modern accommodation. One of the highlights is the view of the historic headframe, which continues to define the former colliery site to this day. Surrounding the Lohnhalle, you'll find several other listed buildings from the former Zeche Bonifacius, creating the authentic atmosphere of the Ruhr region's industrial heritage.
