Company info

We are a couple with German origin and have been living more than 40 years in Ecuador. Among other activities (landscaping & landart, biological water purification systems) we also have worked as a tour operator for a long time. In 2006 we acquired Wantara Garden Suites, an example of restoring a historical property in Quito's old town. We provide a professional service and can help our guests organizing all the little treats that make travelling easier and love to share our uniquely peaceful space with interesting people from all over the world. Wantara Garden Suites are located in an urban oasis, perfect for working and/or vacation. The UNESCO cultural heritage manor house and three independent historic cottages are carefully renovated, stylish and modern, without loosing the colonial charme. Relax in the garden after exploring or working in the City. Enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, biking, birdwatching etc. within a 2 hours drive to volcanoes, cloud forest and hot springs.

You will be fascinated by the magic of the 'Old Town' where authentic Ecuadorian traditions are still alive and can be experienced in its streets and places. After a year of extensive search we finally found this treasure. It took us three years to carefully renovate the property. Within the 15.000 sqft of the old historical villa with its cottages and garden we created eight independent units cautious of not loosing the colonial charm but adding all the contemporary comforts. Quito's colonial city center is a UNESCO world heritage site, the most ampel colonial center in whole South America. You should definitely not miss exploring it while you are in Ecuador.
