Our place is located in one of Tallinn’s historic neighbourhoods, known for its old wooden houses and charming atmosphere. Today, it is one of the city’s most valued areas, with easy access to the Old Town, the sea, the port, popular attractions, restaurants and cafés. I renovated the place myself and designed it exactly the way I would love to stay or live there. I believe this gives the apartment a warm, cosy and personal feeling, as I have put a lot of heart, time and care into every detail. I hope my place gives you a cosy and peaceful base where you can slow down, enjoy the city and feel like you belong here, even if only for a few days. I love hosting and bringing people together. Having a place where I can welcome guests from around the world is very special to me, especially because I love travelling myself and know how much it means to feel truly welcome in a place you visit.

I love travelling, and whenever I visit a new place, I always choose to stay somewhere authentic. For me, a home away from home is not just about having a comfortable bed or a good location. It is about the atmosphere, the small details, the neighbourhood, and the feeling that you are experiencing something real. This is exactly the kind of feeling I want to offer to my guests. Tallinn is my hometown, and I truly love sharing it with others. I know many great places beyond the usual tourist spots. I also love cooking and discovering new restaurants, so food is a big part of how I experience a city. As a foodie, I enjoy finding places with good flavours, a warm atmosphere and something memorable. The apartment is located in Kalamaja, one of Tallinn’s most loved historic wooden house neighbourhoods. Our house is a nostalgic wooden building from 1912, surrounded by streets full of character, old wooden architecture, local cafés, restaurants, bakeries and a calm seaside atmosphere. Kalamaja has a very special feeling. It is often described as Tallinn’s creative and slightly bohemian neighbourhood, but at the same time it is one of the most sought-after places to live in the city. This is where old Tallinn and modern city life meet. Historic wooden houses, renovated homes, design spaces, cosy food spots and new developments all sit side by side. When you enter our house, you step back in time. At first, the hallway may feel a little unexpected, because we have intentionally kept parts of the original interior visible. Instead of covering everything up, we wanted to let the house tell its own story. In the corridor, you can see layers of old wallpaper from different periods, original wooden walls, traces of former doors and staircases, and an old floor plan of the house shown together with the new one. All these details breathe and live history. They give you a small glimpse of how people used to live here. In the old Kalamaja wooden houses, apartments were often shared by several families. The basement floors were used for practical everyday work, such as laundry rooms, and attics were often used for drying clothes and storing household items. Life was simple, shared and closely connected to the house itself. Today, Kalamaja has changed a lot, but it has kept its soul. It is no longer only a working-class wooden house district, but a lively and warm neighbourhood where history, local life, food culture and creativity come together. You can walk to the Old Town and city centre in about 10–15 minutes, reach the seaside in around 450 metres, and the port is also close by. One of the area’s most loved bakeries is just a 2-minute walk away.
