ABOUT LUXOR EXPERIENCE GUEST HOUSE: Living in Egypt, you quickly learn that road noise, and loud speakers on mosques, can be very difficult to sleep through, and get good enjoyable rest. Drivers of all vehicle types use their horns at every opportunity. Took-tooks owners are very proud of their booming subwoofers. Motorcycles exhaust noise are generally excessively noisy. Street noise doesn’t settle down until about 2AM, but in truth never stops entirely. Mosques first call to prayer well before 5AM and regularly through the day until after 7PM in the evening every day. There is no escape from this completely, but being located well away from these problematic areas, as we are, leads to a restful environment, but still only a short walk to the Nile and all amenities one could want. To add to this restful environment, we have an extremely nice scenic outlook across banana plantations to the Nile River and Luxor Temple on one side, and to the Valley of the Queens mountains and Hatshepsut Temple to the other. Added to this, we have spacious viewing points and seating areas under cover from the hot sun, with fans and good quality air-conditioning, all this within a traditional classic Arabic style home incorporating beautifully detailed brickwork. As an icing on the cake, we have a beautiful private garden to enjoy as well.

It is the sum of the past which has made the present, and influences world events. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS AND AMENITIES: There are many restaurants in the area. The key is to know where good food, service and pricing and entertainment is available. Your hosts can advise Horse and camel rides are available close by. Also available is bicycle and motorcycle hire, donkey and kart farm tours and hot air balloon rides. Your hosts are happy arrange good value bookings. The Nile has so much to offer, from short motor boat trips, felucca sail boat trips to various places such as Karnak Temple, Luxor Museum and banana Island, to large boat trips to Aswan, Edfu Temple and including all the monuments and places of interest in between. Trips to Habu, Luxor, Karnak and Hatshepsut Temples, Valley of the Kings Valley of the Queens, extensive numbers of tombs (including that of Tutankhamun and his body), alabaster factories, First century operating Coptic Churches, Colossus of Mammon, Howard Carter House, the archaeologists Marsam Restaurant, and Luxor and Mummification Museums.
