Our Cortijo Los Maximos located at 1100 m above sea level, at 1h30 from ADRA on the coast, 52 minutes from la Rabita, on a winding road, has been lovingly restored in the typical Andalusian style and enjoys unrivalled panoramic views. Calm and tranquillity in a perfect location is the perfect recipe to unwind and forget the vicissitudes of everyday life. In summer, when the coast suffocates with heat, we enjoy a temperate climate, the nights are even a little cool. The best period is from May to October. We would love to share with you the beauties of this region of Spain, so rich and varied. Whether you are bikers, walkers, cyclists, travellers, or just visitors, you will always be welcome to share the feeling of serenity in our home. An outdoor gaz cooking facility (plancha), table, benches, hammocks, swing bed, kitchen utensils, fridge, are at your disposal. Please be aware that our cortijo is in the mountain, you will travel along excellent, but winding roads with spectacular views. Anyway, you can check the distance and driving time on booking map.

History tells us that the Romans came, saw and conquered, but the Fagans came, saw and fell in love with los Maximos. Looking to retire from Ireland, we were looking for a quieter more relaxed lifestyle so we decided to settle and immerse ourselves fully in the middle of the Alpujarra mountainous area of Andalusia. We speak English, Portuguese, some Spanish (Daniela is pretty good actually 😊) and very basic (Mark’s school) French. At 10 minutes drive you can find the "Bodega de los Cuatro Vientos" (famous for its wines, highest vineyards in Europe, outstanding restaurant and local products ). The roads are winding, and perfect for cycling or motorbiking, and the views throughout the year are spectacular.
