Good passive design, extensive recycling, solar panels and biomass heating help us get the balance right. El Geco Verde's secluded location steals many hearts, but it´s not for everyone. A spirit of adventure could be your best travelling companion! Be prepared to abandon the GPS as you negotiate the 3km farmtrack to our front door; Peace, seclusion, endless views await you– in other words a truly authentic rural retreat. Our aim is comfort, not five star luxury. At the house we oferr a basic breakfast and fixed menu dinners. To ensure the freshest ingredients and minismise waste we operate a policy of pre-booking only for evening meals (we do not do lunches) and offer a central self-service honesty bar rather than minibars in the rooms. We are an Italian/English couple who were working in London, nursing the dream of creating a home in a special part of the world with open views, light and sunshine, living more sustainably and getting back to nature. El Geco Verde is a Casa Rural with the emphasis firmly on the Rural. The hotel is surrounded by olive and almond groves, pine forests and agricultural land. We have mapped out some great tracks and trails for walking and mountain biking so you can explore this privileged location. The views are sensational and there is almost no light pollution, so the stars can be seen in all their glory. There are no other inhabited buildings within a 3km radius. The nearest bar is 4km away, the closest restaurant 11kms, the closest village (Castril) 13kms.
