You have just discovered the best kept secret of La Alpujarra in Granada... The Refugio de Mecina is an ecological house that has followed the rules of bioconstruction. A large and interior apartment, like the Sacromonte cave-houses, to disconnect from the city and with the essential comforts. You can stay with you and up to 4 of your favorite people since it has 3 bedrooms. Your dog is welcome because they too deserve to enjoy the mountains. *IT IS RECOMMENDED for brave travelers who flee from stress, from urban comfort and who move with the essentials: a backpack and that's it.
Stay at El Refugio de Mecina is a different experience for the traveller, its interior architecture is similar of the ancient caves of the Sacromonte of Granada. GASTRONOMY, WHERE TO EAT: Mecina is one of the most famous villages in La Taha, where the three most popular restaurants in the area are located: El Barranquillo (tapas and traditional cuisine) and L'Atelier (international cuisine) and La Cueva de la Mora Luna (multicultural cuisine), they are famous for its homemade pizzas and live music.
MECINA-ACCESSIBILITY FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE AND CHILDREN: Mecina is different from other villages in the Alpujarras by the plain that forms its territory, which gives easy access by road, and the possibility of walking without being limited by the many slopes so characteristic of Alpujarreña geography, which is also ideal for older people and children to enjoy.
