Luz da Lua is one of the properties managed under the name of Sosego d'Oruxo located in the hamlet of Oruxo in Muxia just 20-minutes walk from 3 beaches and overlooking a quiet valley. Luz da Lua (Moonlight) is a 3-bedroom barn conversion. You can choose to have either a king-sized bed or 2 single beds in each of the bedrooms. We have endeavoured to make the ground floor bedroom fully accessible to those with mobility issues and it has an en-suite bathroom. The property has been decorated using neutral colours to enhance the state of peacefulness we hope you'll find here. We've recently added a licensed taxi to our business. Hi, we’re Rosa, Mat and Arya! Originally from the UK, we fell in love with the quiet beauty of Muxia and now call this charming village, Oruxo, our home. We run two family-owned properties right alongside our own house: a spacious three-bedroom home perfect for families and a cozy studio for solo travelers or couples. Our Hosting Style We believe in giving our guests total privacy and a "home away from home" feel, so we tend to be hands-off. However, because we live right next door, we are always available to answer questions or share tips about the local area. The Space When you stay with us, you have full access to our large, shared garden. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and soak in the peace of village life. Local Perks Navigating rural Galicia can sometimes be a challenge, but we’ve got you covered! Mat is a local licensed taxi driver, so we can assist with transfers, luggage transport for pilgrims, or local trips to help you explore the stunning coastline without the stress of driving. Oruxo is a very small hamlet, next to the Camino de Santiago, in the Concello (council area) of Muxia. Sitting on the top of one of the valley sides we can watch as the crops are sown, grown and harvested. A perfect place to reflect after reaching the end of the world! There are 3 beaches within a short walk and even more within a short drive, there is no end of sea swimming, canoeing, surfing or lounging around to be done. Maybe you would prefer to walk along the coastal path to view the never-ending Atlantic and catch the sun as it sets. Not far away is the old monastery of Moraime with its church walls covered in 11th-century murals. And then there is the food. With the sea so nearby the area is well known for its fish dishes whether it be clams, octopus or percebes (gooseneck barnacles). Did we mention the fiestas? Throughout the summer season, there is a fiesta somewhere on the Costa Da Morte but the biggest is held in Muxia each September when our population swells from 5000 to 80,000. What a party!
