We, Tom and Carmen, are both artists, Tom is a musician and I am a painter. We have delighted in creating a home that is simple and harmonious, and spent the last 2 years restoring it with all our love and care with beauty and comfort in mind, for that reason we are very happy when people come to enjoy our work and tell us of their experience.

Property info

The house is situated minutes from the Sierra Nevada National Park, on the very edge of the ancient and well preserved village of Atalbeitar, with its donkey lanes that make it a car-free village, and a total delight for children’s games. Additionally, as the house is in the front line of the village, it benefits from a feeling of seclusion and countryside as well as enjoying the cultural experience of a tiny Andalusian village. It makes an ideal holiday base for lovers of beauty and nature, popular amongst artists and walkers, and its proximity to the park offers a whole range of outdoors activities in a stunning location: Flamenco classes, horse riding , yoga, Chi kung, specialised walks, etc. In the colder months you can get cozy beside the open fire, eat out on the terrace with the untouched valley beneath you, explore our selection of games, DVDs, just relax and read a book…or my favourite, paint the views!

Neighborhood info

We'll try and share with you some of the secrets of this remarkable corner of the world. Surrounding Atalbeitar lie seven other moorish villages, all connected to us by beautiful paths that offer glorious walks, all have fiestas in Winter and Summer too, and plenty of history. We can point you in the right direction for unforgettable walks with incredible views. There are in the house as well other suggestions, a collection of maps with detailed walks via the moorish paths. In the evenings explore the variety of restaurants and bars in the area, where the tradition is to give a free Tapa with every drink, and where often you can catch an evening of local music.
