“Isakssons stugor” is a small family business consisting of eight seaside cottages, located on the Southeastern coast of Föglö. The business is currently run by me, Otto Hojar. My grandmother Helvi Isaksson started renting out the cottages to guests in the 1960’s, and my mother Marjatta, who was an architect, designed the eight cottages and took special care when placing them, in order to make them blend into the archipelago nature and allowing ample space between them. The cottages are simple but well equipped, all offering a beautiful seaside view. Our motto, since the beginning, is good service and sustainability, always with the environment’s best at heart. All cottages are provided with a rowing boat or kayak, offering means to explore new islands with soft cliffs, access to a wood-fired sauna by the sea, fishing possibilities (with nets or casting rods) and much more. Our guests keep coming back, and some families have been coming here for three or even four generations. We wish you a very warm welcome to us and to Föglö’s unique Eastern archipelago.

“Isakssons stugor” is located by the sea in Southeastern Föglö, in one of Åland’s most alluring archipelago areas. You are yet to discover the outer archipelago, the soft cliffs, the fresh water and the serene atmosphere. Our cottages are perfectly suited for those who appreciate the simple pleasures in life, functionality, peace and quiet, and pristine seaside surroundings.

The Eastern part of Föglö and the surrounding archipelago is one of the most beautiful areas of Åland. There are nice paddling- and fishing waters offering great possibilities of finding your very own islands with soft cliffs for the excursion of the day. The only interruption of the silence is the breaking of the waves and the screeching of the sea birds. A more peaceful setting is difficult to imagine. The cabin village boasts 3000 meters of untouched coastal trail, ten islets and notches and lots of smaller islands. You are yet to explore a great flora and fauna consisting of orchids, butterflies, birds and a rich fishing life. The original meaning of the name Föglö, is the place of many birds. On Eastern Föglö, you will find one of Åland’s largest sites for sea eagles, and lots of nesting sea birds on the hundreds of small islands in our waters.
