The Giellajohka crew values the rough, beautiful nature of Lapland. Our place is surrounded by two wilderness areas, where we spend our time hiking and fishing in the summer, skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Berry and mushroom picking, fishing, hunting, hiking, trekking and a variety of other sports are close to the hearts of the Giellajohka crew, never forgetting to stop and enjoy the peace and quietness of the wilderness.

Giellajohka is cozy, family-run holiday village in the heart of Finnish Lapland. Located away from all the cities and light pollution, it is a perfect place to view to Northern Lights and enjoy the surrounding wilderness.

Neighborhood info

From Giellajohka you have easy access to hiking and trekking trails of the surrounding wilderness areas. The Muotkatunturi wilderness area offers chances for more experienced hikers. The beautiful Kevo strict nature reserve nearby has marked trails and is suitable for all hikers. Summer in Giellajohka is very popular among fishermen. Many rivers, lakes and ponds nearby offer great chances for trout and grayling fishing. In winter time you can try your hand in traditional ice fishing with the Giellajohka crew, explore the nature with snowshoes or skis or just enjoy the blazing show of the Northern Lights by a warm campfire.
