We're hosting Ruka Nest (Rukan Pesä) - a collection of four cozy nature cabins in Vuosseli, Ruka. Each cabin carries the name of something small and beautiful from the northern forest: Havu - a spruce sprig, Hilla - a golden cloudberry, Naava - soft tree lichen, and Varpu - a resilient forest shrub. Together they form a quiet little family of cabins made for the rhythm of Ruka: ski days, trail walks, sauna heat, fireplace evenings and mornings when the forest is just outside the door. Here, the holiday is simple from the beginning. The slopes, restaurants, Ruka Valley and the gondola are close enough that the car can rest. Guests can step out for skiing, hiking, biking or winter trails, then return to their own sauna, kitchen, fireplace and warm wooden shelter. The cabins are compact but generous in spirit: made for families, friends, remote workdays and unhurried evenings after a day outdoors. To us well behaved pets are also welcome. Ruka–Kuusamo is a place of seasons. In winter, snow gathers on the trees and the fell becomes a playground. In spring, the light returns to long ski days. In summer, clean air, old forests and pure waters invite guests toward trails, lakes and national parks. In autumn, the colours turn quiet and golden. Ruka Nest exists for these changing moments — for people who want comfort without losing contact with nature. This is not a stay far away from everything. Step outside and you are just 100 m from the slopes and 100 m from restaurants — no car needed. After skiing, hiking or exploring Ruka, return to your own warm shelter: enjoy the private sauna, light the wood-burning fireplace, and settle in with family, friends or your pet. The cabin sleeps up to 7 guests and is approximately 55 m² / 592 ft². There is one bedroom with a double bed, a loft with one double bed and one single bed, and a sofa bed in the living room. The cabin also includes free parking, gear storage, and family-friendly touches such as a cot on request. EV charging is available nearby, about 100 m from the cabin. Rukan Havu sits in one of Ruka’s best spots—quiet and surrounded by nature, yet right in the heart of the action.
