We are a family-owned business with two generations working together side-by-side. Rukan Salonki Resort features 20 log cabins/apartments, two wild food restaurants, a kota, and a high-tech smoke sauna. Additionally, the company operates Restaurant Kuksa in Ruka Village and a smoke sauna, Pyhäpiilo, by the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. Personal service is one of our core values, and as we are hands-on in our daily work, we make it a point to greet most of our guests personally upon arrival or when they visit for meals.

Rukan Salonki Resort is a private resort close to Ruka recreational area. It is easy to reach us via airport of Kuusamo, located 30km from us, or via Rovaniemi or Oulu airports, both around 200km away. If you travel by rental car, you will find us easily, as we are en route one of the main roads across Finland. The high-standard grey log chalets and sky view villa-apartments are located by wilderness lakes and you have direct access to nature trails of the area. All buildings of the resort are of sturdy Finnish grey log, a natural building material. The accommodation units are spread out nicely to give our guests the privacy they seek when traveling to the north of Finland. Wild food and wellbeing from nature are highly prioritized in our sustainability plan, we serve seasonal local wild food and home cooking in our restaurants and offer relaxing sauna and nature experiences to our guests. Rukan Salonki greets guests from all around the world, all year around. In addition to the log cabins, Rukan Salonki Resort offers wild food restaurants Kultala and Kymppi, as well as a high-tech smoke sauna with an outdoor hot tub.

Ruka-Kuusamo is one of the most beloved nature areas in Finland. The hiking trails take you to amazing nature sights and a plethora of activities is offered all year around. Rukan Salonki Resort is located 3km from Ruka Village, the winter sport centre. The SkiBus shuttles regularly in the winter and in the summer the shuttle service, which is not so frequent as in the winter, takes you to Oulanka National Park from where you can start your hikes. In our resort we have several BBQ-sites at the free use of our guests. In the winter time these are good northern lights observation spots and in the summer perfect for admiring the still white summer nights. In the winter time we offer a snow tubing slope for children of all ages (not supervised). In the summer we have rowing boats for the use of our guests and they say you might get a good catch from our little lakes! There are nature trails, in winter time cross country ski slopes starting from the resort. All major safari companies pick up from Rukan Salonki, either from the doorstep of your chalet or a meeting point in the area. All chalets have a sauna, but don't miss out on our Starsauna!
