Torpakka is whole unique experience: old atmosphere and buildings, ecological design, cafe and living space. If you are looking for chain hotel standards, we are not for you! 😊

Property info

Glamping tent is located on the yard of old croft, (small log house). There is also small summerkiosk in the property selling unique, sustainable new and upcycled products, from various Finnish small businesses, as well as vintage and second hand pieces, and a cafe selling refresments and vegan pastry. The property runs with ecological wind and solar power, and has no running water. However there is plenty of drinking and washing water provided by the host for you, coffee/tea kit, and electricity in the tent. There is old sauna that is very atmospheric washing place, and will be also warmed daily, if you want a full sauna experience. Outhouse toilet is in the yard. The garden is half wild and as natural as possible with tables, chairs and relaxing places. You have also possibility for barbecue when wanted. Parking space for car or other vehicles is near by tent.You can order continental breakfast separetely.

Neighborhood info

The area is old rural area near by lake Saimaa. The nearest public beach is abr. 1,4 km from Torpakka. There are plenty of old buildings and farm houses around, Torpakka is located alongside an old road where are two small old villages. There are also neighbours near by, so you will experience a vibrant finnish farmland community surrounding us. Ristiina main village is located abr. 4km from us, where you can find fe. supermarket, Alko, pharmacy and very nice bigger swimming place. Ristiina is famous for Astuvansalmi rock paintings and there are boat cruises leaving from centrum of Ristiina and walking paths leading to them as well. There is a lot other old history and nature sights in Ristiina, you will get more info at the location from the host and there is nice tourist info in Ristiina centrum as well. Torpakka is located quite near by road nr. 5, that will take you to Mikkeli (abr. 18 km) and opposite direction to Lappeenranta (abr. 93 km).
