Welcome to enjoy the genuine peace of the North in a brand-new (2022) log cabin on the shore of Lake Soivionjärvi in Kuusamo! This modern and stylish lakeside cottage on a hillside plot (ground floor + low sleeping loft) beautifully combines traditional cottage atmosphere with contemporary comforts. The location is exceptionally peaceful – only one neighbour about 100m away on the same shore, no other close neighbours. The perfect place to disconnect from everyday life and recharge in the middle of nature. Only about 50 min drive to the Ruka ski slopes, services, husky and reindeer safaris – close enough for activities, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of town. Wi-Fi: it is available, but speeds can vary greatly and are affected by other users in the area (there are several other cottages about 2 km away, which immediately shows in the local Wi-Fi networks). Winter magic: •Relax in the outdoor hot tub under the starry sky and Northern Lights •Heat up the traditional wood-fired lakeside sauna right by the water •Head straight from your own yard onto the official snowmobile trails Summer joys: •SUP board and rowing boat ready for paddling on the lake •Fishing in the Soivio rapids just a few hundred metres away •Swimming from the shallow sandy beach + atmospheric grill hut by the lake •Air conditioning in the cottage keeps the indoor spaces pleasantly cool on warm days.

The accommodation has been built for our own use, and now we are ready to rent it out to others who truly appreciate and know how to value their own peace and quiet.We do not aim to be the cheap option in any way. Instead, we want to offer a peaceful retreat in nature, equipped with modern comforts in the cottage, combined with a touch of traditional atmosphere thanks to the wood-heated lakeside sauna with carried water (no running water in the sauna).We have always felt very comfortable at the cottage ourselves. The different natural phenomena – from the Northern Lights to bright sunshine – always calm the mind alongside work.We hope that our guests will also take very good care of the place. If any wishes or requests arise, we will do our best to accommodate them whenever possible.Regarding Wi-Fi: it is available, but speeds can vary greatly and are affected by other users in the area (there are several other cottages about 2 km away, which immediately shows in the local Wi-Fi networks). We live far away from the accommodation ourselves, but help is available nearby when needed. A visit to a large traditional Finnish farm can also be arranged in advance – if agreed well ahead of time and safety regulations are followed.

• Kuusamo town centre ~25–35 min drive: Shops, grocery stores, restaurants, daily necessities and services easily accessible. • Kuusamo Large Carnivore Centre ~30 km: See bears, lynx and wolves safely up close – an unforgettable northern wildlife experience! • Hossa National Park ~45 km: Stunning hiking trails, ancient rock paintings, crystal-clear wilderness lakes and swimming spots – a perfect day-trip destination. • Ruka ~50 min drive: Skiing and winter activities, husky and reindeer safaris, restaurants, shops and year-round services. • Oulanka National Park ~1 h: The famous Bear's Ring trail, impressive canyons, rapids and spectacular hikes – a true Lapland classic. • Soivio upper and lower rapids – excellent for fishing. About 300 metres along the lake (500 metres by road). • Poussu Rapids 9 km away, with a large hut (kota) and an accessible viewing bridge in addition.Here you get complete wilderness peace and privacy, yet the best services and activities of Kuusamo and Ruka are still just a short drive away!
