Located on the island of Vanu Levu and known as the Hidden Paradise of Fiji, Savusavu is the place for people looking to relax, enjoy Fijian lifestyle and simply get away from the ‘madding crowd’ for a completely relaxing break. Gingerbread Cottage, nestled on shore of the beautiful Savusavu Bay offers a fully self-contained Cottage which is super cute, bright and airy with spectacular views across Savusavu Bay. Walk across the road and immerse yourself in the clear waters of the Bay, enjoy snorkeling at various locations all within easy walking distance, visit the Flora Tropical Botanical Gardens for a special treat, go fishing, take a boat trip, or a tour to the waterfalls, hot pools and more around the area. Located 3.5 k’s from the town of Savusavu there is a local bus two hourly, local taxis which are very cost effective, or you can simply walk and enjoy the journey. This property is NOT suitable for people with a disability as there are stairs to enter the property and to access the mezzanine bedroom and shower.
We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. As keen travellers for many years, we appreciate what it takes to make people feel comfortable and at home whether it be for 2 nights or 4 weeks. We enjoy water sports, love the outdoor life and the slow pace, friendly people, quirky lifestyle and fresh air of Fiji.
Gingerbread Cottage is located 3.5ks from Savusavu town and 2.8ks from the world renown JM Cousteau Resort. Excellent snorkeling is off the shore directly in front of teh Cottage and at the very popular Split Rock just a small stroll along the road. Namena Marine Reserve, a world class location for scuba diving and snorkeling is just a boat ride away. Korovesi is considered as semi-rural, the lifestyle is as the Fijians live it daily and the location of Savusavu is considered Fiji's Hidden Paradise. A local bus passes Gingerbread Cottage two hourly other than Sundays. Taxis are cost effective and are easily available. There are many cost-effective eating options within easy reach of the Cottage. Savusavu Town also has fresh markets daily excluding Sunday, a number of supermarkets, two ATM machines and several Currency Exchange options.
