The house is in Saksun, which is north of Strømø. It is surrounded by very beautiful nature with high mountains. When you live in Saksun, you also have good opportunities to drive around most of the islands in the Faroe Islands. The house was built in the 1940. Each floor is 40 sqm. In the middle floor there is the kitchen, Bathroom and the living room. On the top floor there are 3 bedrooms. In the largest of the rooms there is a double bed. In the 2 other rooms there are built-in beds. The special feature of the house is that the original style from 1840 is preserved. Renovations have been made since then, so the house is today in a fine condition. All modern facilities are in the house. In the basement there is a washing machine and a clothes rack. When you rent this cottage you get to made beds. Towels and some basic items are also included in the price...

Saksun is one of the Faroe Islands' most beautiful and iconic villages, known for its peaceful atmosphere, dramatic mountain scenery, and breathtaking natural surroundings. With only a handful of residents, the village offers a unique opportunity to experience the tranquility and beauty of the Faroes away from the crowds. The mountains surrounding Saksun are right on your doorstep, making the cottage an ideal base for hiking, photography, and exploring the spectacular landscape. The famous Saksun lagoon and black sand beach are also within easy reach. The nearest village, Hvalvík, is located approximately 11 km away, while the nearest grocery store can be found in Oyrarbakki, about 15 km from Saksun. As there is no regular public transportation to the village, we highly recommend having a car to make the most of your stay and to explore the many attractions of the Faroe Islands. Free parking is available at the cottage.
