Your hosts Sadie, Joachim and resident mini schnauzer Juno, look forward to meeting you at 45BB gite, a premier guest house located in the heart of the Old Bastide in Carcassonne. 45BB gite is situated within the boundary of a period property that is nearly 200 years old and has been upgraded and modernised in recent years and now boasts a stylish contemporary space with polished concrete flooring, a bedroom with luxurious bathroom and a circular concrete spa bath with a wet shower area. The apartment has its own fully furnished kitchen, dining and sitting area, with direct access to the courtyard pool. Free wifi is provided throughout the property. We are the only guest house in the centre of town with our own courtyard garden and in ground swimming pool for your use. There is a wide selection of eateries, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and retail outlets all within walking distance of the property. I'm afraid we do not accept credit or bank cards, cash only please.

Having both worked in London nearly all our professional lives, we decided enough was enough and moved to France in 2018. We searched high and low for the 'right' property and area considering location, weather, town, amenities, transport and 'friendliness'. We decided to concentrate on the Languedoc/Occitanie region as it had the shortest winters, least amount of rainfall, and was striking distance to both the sea and the mountains. Carcassonne was chosen as we found it to be one of the liveliest cities and had something happening every day of the year. We both enjoy meeting people, hosting and entertaining, so it was a natural decision to run a guest house. Carcassonne has a huge selection and variety to offer from restaurants, shops, entertainment, historical sites to sporting activities including cycling along canal du midi. The old cite of Carcassonne is less than a mile away while Narbonne, on the Mediterranean coast is only an hour's drive, and the Pyrenees less than 2 hours away. We would be happy to suggest any number of activities that may be of interest to you, or simply ensure your stay is relaxing and enjoyable.
