Chalet Carpe Diem is perfectly situated in the centre of the village and about 300 meters from our restaurant (La Romanche). The chalet is constructed on a property of about 7.500 m2 (!) and surrounded by lots of green and impressive mountains. Please, feel free to relax in our garden on one of our couches. You can see the bends of the famous road to Alpe d'Huez straight from your accommodation ! All of our 3 spacious and well maintained accommodations do offer every modern comfort you may ask for and have their own terrace and free and safe parking places Our maximum total capacity is 19 beds; 1 apartment for 3 persons, 1 apartment for 4 persons and our biggest accommodation offers 12 beds. Our guests can put their bikes and skis in our large and secured garage, which you will find on the ground floor in the chalet. This service as well as the use of wifi is free of charges. You will find a large, electronic gate at the entrance of the property. Only our guests can enter on the property with their digit code which they will receive upon their arrival.
We are a Dutch couple, living in France since 1998. We arrived in Bourg d'Oisans in 2004 as we bought a restaurant situated in the centre of this warm hearted village. During all those years we had many, many requests about where to sleep in Bourg d'Oisans. So in 2013 we decided to buy Chalet Carpe Diem, which, in our opinion, was the most beautiful and spacious accommodation in this village, situated in the centre of the village. In 2025 we decided to sell our restaurant. We love the mountains and especially Jan is a very fanatic cyclist who knows all the cols (not only in our region !) and the beautiful spots for cyclists, walkers and hikers. Every time our guests tell us with lots of enthousiasme about their trip they have made during their stay with us, we feel extremely happy and privileged.
Chalet Carpe Diem is situated about 250 meters from the center of the village of Bourg d'Oisans (3,500 habitants / 720 meters of altitude). All shops, bars, restaurants, bike shops and ski shops are only a 3 minutes walk away. The largest supermarket of the village, as well as the petrol station, is just across the street ! The municipal swimming pool (opened during the summer period) is about 300 meters from the chalet. You will be impressed by the many mountain tops, the peace and the silence you will experience on our property. Especially in the spring and summer period there is lots of entertainment and animation in the very sporty village of Bourg d'Oisans.
