Welcome to Chalet Chalon! Between sky and earth & lake and mountains! The chalet with breath-taking panorama views over Lake Geneva is situated in the French alps at 1000 metre altitude 2 km from (the skiing station of) the village of Thollon les Mémises & 15 km from Évian les bains. You not only have awe-inspiring panorama views on the ever-changing light on the lake, at eye level with the soaring eagles, but also on the impressive Swiss alps and the Jura horizons, on the opposite shore. The cosy and spacious "spaceship Chalet" with its very sociable dining/living room, in the private Domain of Grand Roc at the foot of the Chablais Alps, offers a haven of privacy, tranquillity & regenerating mountain air! Due to its north orientation the wooden chalet stays cool in the summer and is cosy and warm in the winter through central heating and its highly performing wooden stove in the living/dining room. The high-ceilinged wooden beam construction gives it a snug and very spacious atmosphere. The double-bed main bedroom is located above the living room and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath tub and a little balcony. Two snug bedrooms which accommodate up to 4 and 5 people are located on the bottom floor. One bedroom is equipped with a double bed, and a single bed which can also be used as a small kid’s bed with a protection against falling out, or a couch. Both bedrooms are equipped with a two-person high beds. The other bedroom includes two single beds and a desk with a view! On the ground floor, adjacent to the entrance, is the kitchen which is connected to the dining area via a very practical hatch, and a toilet and small bathroom with walk-in shower. Last but not least there is a very spacious balcony with a barbecue big table and chairs and a coffee table, chairs and benches out the front for coffee in the sun. On your arrival the beds are made and we also provide bath and kitchen towels. We have three different coffee makers which all take ground coffee.

The closest ski station is in Thollon les Mémises which is only 3 kms away and also reachable with a shuttle. Or cross country directly from the chalet! The other local ski station is Bernex and the Portes du soleil starts only 30 km away (biggest international ski area in the world and largest mountainbike area in Europe)! In summer it is a 15min drive to swim or SUP in the lake. Furthermore, 15 kms away Évian les bains’s world famous spa proposes a wide range of invigorating treatments using Évian mineral water to regenerate and relax, ideal for thermal treatment, spa weekends or luxury retreats. In the summer, there are many mountainbiking road cycling and hiking and climbing options in the area, for example the Mémises are a great hiking aim with stunning views which can be gone to, either directly from the chalet, or reached with the Thollon station cable car (Maps and guidebooks are found in the Chalet, the host will also be glad to share more information and GPX data for the best hiking and cycling in the area). This is also the take off place for paragliding tandems. The Vallée d’Abondance, true to its name, offers an abundance of magical outing destinations. You can also enjoy the (free) swimming pool of the Grand Roc domain (open in July and August) and you can visit to the lake and Switzerland, either by boat or by car. Shops and various restaurants and a tourist information office are located in Thollon Mémises. The chalet is equipped with all luxury such as WiFi (4G mobile phone net, occasionally poor connection(!)), a television (Netflix & Disney+), stereo set, oven, washing machine and dishwasher.
