The OVO Network team’s opinion - With 8 bedrooms and 11 beds, there's plenty of room for everyone at this superb chalet, which is set over three main floors (max capacity of 15 people). A swimming pool, gym, home cinema and sauna will be waiting for you at this lavishly restored chalet after a wonderful day exploring the Aravis mountains. Note: children MUST be supervised by adults when using the home cinema. The sauna and gym equipments are available to guests over 16. The well-being area is on the first floor - there's a shower and a sauna room, opening on to a sunny terrace with a year-round, concealed pool. The 'mazot' or storage room in the garden has been converted into a gym, where you can work out in privacy. The main living area is on the second floor, where it makes the most of the views and access to the garden. A huge three-sided sofa surrounds an open fire, for cosy nights in, and there's a huge dining table where everyone can sit down and eat together. Picture windows flood this floor with light, and open on to a furnished covered terrace. PLEASE NOTE that the maximum occupancy of the property is 15 people. In accordance with the fire safety regulations, the property complies with the provisions of the January 31, 1986 decree (later amended) for residential buildings. Therefore, although the property has beds for 20 people, the maximum occupancy of the chalet must not exceed 15 in order for it to comply with the provisions of the decree of 22 June 1990 related to establishments that provide public access. Free wifi, cleaning, towels & linen included. Security deposit: The owner requires a 1,000 euros damage and excess cleaning guarantee. No funds are taken or blocked on your card. Your payment details are securely held for up to 14 days after departure. If no charge is required, they will be deleted.

When you stay at Chalet Happyview, you're just a 2km drive from the pistes and just a short walk from the ski bus stop. The ski bus, which also serves La Clusaz and Manigod, stops just 60m from the chalet. There are also plenty of cross-country trails. Non-skiers won't be bored either - try hiking or snowshoeing, paragliding, hot-air ballooning, ice-skating or ice-climbing. Le Grand Bornand boasts the Famille Plus mark, ensuring that there is always plenty of entertainment and activities for even the youngest visitors. In the summer, a network of walking and biking trails criss-cross the slopes, and you can pick up a route map for either at the tourist office. Le Grand Bornand is one of the stops on the Route de Grand Alpes cycle trail, which links Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean coast via some stunning Alpine passes. The village also features regularly in the Tour de France, Check out the Col de la Colombière, which also features in the 44-Tour du Bargy (go clockwise to reduce the amount of time you spend on the main road), and the scenic Col des Annes - a less well-known pass offering great views of the Pointe Percée and the Aravis mountains. Le Grand Bornand has a beautiful nine-hole golf course with a great driving range, and on those very hot days, why not head for the fantastic swimming pool complex, with a restaurant and grassy areas for picnics. If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, there’s a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby. August sees the international children’s festival - Au Bonheur des Mômes - in Le Grand Bornand, a week of magic shows, circus acts, theatre, games and workshops, with a grand firework finale.
