Operating since 2004, we are one of the few British run businesses in Chamonix to hold the Carte Professionnelle which obliges us to maintain a Garantie Financière (cash bond) to ensure all our clients are financially protected. Our office is in central Chamonix, so we are on hand to advise you throughout your stay and organise any little extras that you need. Mountain Base's services include everything from pre-ordering lift passes through to arrangements for catering, equipment hire, ski lessons and activities such as husky sledging and paragliding.

It’s centrally located, being just a couple of minutes walk from Chamonix’s town square and the Aiguille du Midi cable car. The open plan dining and living area spills out onto the large wooden deck, perfect for entertaining whatever the weather. The Mont Blanc range is your backdrop whether you are eating inside or out, with two infra-red heaters and a fire-pit to keep you warm and cosy. The 12 seater sunken, wooden hot-tub is a wonderful spot for relaxing and taking in the views after an active day in the mountains. The fenced garden provides a little oasis of calm in the heart of Chamonix, with grass lawns and a chance to enjoy the French pastime of Petanque with its very own court. Back inside there is plenty of room for the whole family. You can retreat to the sumptuous sitting room, for an evening snuggled around the roaring log fire. If you’re a film buff or gaming guru head downstairs to the spacious cinema room, with a full entertainment system. Or relax with a drink around the pool table before adjourning to one of the generous en-suite bedrooms.

Set at the base of Mont Blanc the skiing in Chamonix has a reputation for being some of the best in the world. Chamonix's varied terrain is an enticement to both adventurous skiers and boarders who are attracted to high-altitude, steep off-piste runs, as well as those who prefer to cruise the pistes and enjoy the views with a hot chocolate at a slope side restaurant. When the snow has melted, Chamonix has a wealth of activities to offer including hiking, paragliding, mountaineering, trail running, climbing, mountain biking and white water rafting. There are also more general sports and leisure activities available such as tennis and squash, bowling, swimming and fitness. The car-free centre of town is full of atmosphere and very cosmopolitan, with cobbled streets and squares and beautiful old buildings built around the fast-running glacial river, the Arve. The mood is lively and bustling with a good variety of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.
