Just outside the much visited medieval village of Lautrec lies Chateau de Montcuquet with commanding sunset view of the village, valleys and hills, the characteristics of a true chateau fort. It has three defensive towers, three stories, and three wings. With its trio of wells, a central courtyard, a dungeon, a meticulously manicured garden at its entrance, and a small woodland expanse at its rear, the castle stands as a testament to history.
A tree-bordered driveway is overseen by a pigeonnier, its arches adorned with the date 1662, a relic of the past. The castle itself traces its origins back to the 1300s, as revealed by ancient archives.
