German-American owners, Sandra and Jörg Pohlman first came to the Château on holiday in 2004 and they fell in love with everything there was to offer here and in the surrounding area. Passionate about art, they plan to feature works by many artists throughout the property. General Manager, Marlin Charlott and her team have many years experience in the hospitality sector and are looking forward to greeting guests.

Set among the vines in one of the largest wine growing areas in France, Château de Villarlong enjoys unspoiled views into the Aude valley. The Château, which dates back to 1058, is ideally situated in the heart of the countryside, with the beaches of the Mediterranean and the peaks of the Pyrenees nearby. Two world heritage sites, the medieval Cité of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, are both just 15 mins away. The 1000-year-old Château has been divided up into individual apartments – each with its own unique style. Spacious and comfortable, all have an equipped kitchen dinning space, seating area and private outside terrace or balcony – ideal for families. Various activities are on offer in the large communal gardens including a tennis court and games area. The large infinity pool has breath-taking views across neighbouring vineyards. We also have a new Chef and our restaurant is open for the season. We also offer a buffet breakfast with eggs to order.

The region is known for its vineyards and Villarlong is surrounded by them. Wine lovers can enjoy tastings at numerous local wineries. The beaches of the Mediterranean are just over an hour away – perfect for family days out of sun, sand and sea. The Pyrenees are also close enough for day trips – ideal for walking, canoeing and even skiing in winter months. The region also boasts many Cathar castles which are well worth a visit. The world heritage site of La Cité de Carcassonne, with its historic castle, bustling streets and many restaurants is just a 15-minute drive away.
