Chateau Masburel was bought by Olivia and Neil Donnan in 1997.The main Chateau was returned to its former glory of exposed stone and elegant courtyard and the winery boasted the most modern equipment. Between 1998 and 2003 over one third of the vineyard was replanted with the best quality of classic grape varieties found in this famous and historic wine growing region of France. In 2008, the Donnan family decided to take a well-earned retirement. Over the next 10 years the estate became a sleeping beauty. The winery and vineyards were left slumbering in the Dordoigne countryside until in August 2018, Chris Walker and Irma Lazickiene purchased the property with the aim of bringing it back to life. New equipment is being installed, vineyards are being restored and the aim is to bring new life into the chateau through its wines, tourism and events.

Chateau Masburel is a working vineyard and winery as well as an elegant château offering deluxe en-suite bedrooms. Each room is individually decorated with silk carpets, antiques, paintings and refined French touches. The main château offers a calm and refined atmosphere and is reserved for adult guests only. CHILDREN ARE NOT ACCOMMODATED. PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED. The Tapestry Gîte is a separate accommodation ideal for families, where children are welcome. It provides a comfortable and relaxed space to enjoy the surroundings. CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED. PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED DUE TO ALLERGY CONSIDERATIONS. Guests can explore the vineyard, discover the wine-making process and enjoy tastings of the wines produced at the château.

Beautiful working wine Chateau set in spacious grounds 10 minutes' drive from Ste Foy La Grande, with its bustling Saturday morning market. The railway station (Bordeaux - Sarlat line) is 5 mins' drive. Bergerac airport is 30 mins' drive; Bordeaux airport is approximately 1 hr 20 mins' drive. Ideally situated to explore the SW France and in particular the wine regions of Bordeaux and Bergerac. The Château de Vigiers Golf Club is just 15 mins drive away.
