Located in Sainte-Marie-de-Campan, La Bergerie - Gîte Grand Tourmalet - offers accommodations with free Wi-Fi, a large garden, a terrace and views of the river. The jacuzzi is only accessible by prior reservation: it is shared between the gîtes, but each guest has private time. If the entire property is privatized, use of the jacuzzi is exclusive. The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities such as skiing, cycling and hiking. Bike hire and ski storage are available on site. Lake Payolle is just 5.6 mi away. Our property is situated in the foot of La Mongie, Pic du Midi and Grand Tourmalet. We are nestled within the national park and we are surrounded by a woodland area with The L'adour river coming through our three hectares of land. We also have friendly dogs and cats that would love to meet you. We do allow well behaved dogs. Please contact us first. We do ask for a small cleaning charge for dogs We do have a bridge that is used to access the property all cars can go over without any problems.
Winter at Grand Tourmalet is open for skiing, we are only 15 minutes away from the first ski lift. The area boasts a 100km of pistes, with skiing for every ability and even a snowpark, sledge slopes for the kids with restaurants and shops. In the summer, the Col du Tourmalet has much to offer. Stunning walks, restaurants and a mecca for cyclists,we always see the Tour de France go through our village which is easy walking access of our gites. You can also enjoy hiking, fishing, and cliff climbing. There are many prestigious sites nearby such as the Observatory of the Pic du Midi, the Neouvielle Massif, Gavarnie, Lourdes, and many others. If you are looking for a more relaxing vacation, Aquensis and Les Thermes' (Freshwater Spa's) is a 10-minute drive away in Bagneres De Bigorre, where there is a huge choice of treatments and pools. Bagneres de Bigorre has a wonderful market each Saturday with lots of delicious local food and produce. We welcome dogs, ( please tell us in advance if you bring a dog and there is charge per night for dogs) we have a fenced area around the gites, there are plenty of walks to enjoy all around the area.
