This period property is over 100 years old and used to be a bakery. The old bread oven still exists. We are opposite a 15th Century Church, which was once visited by pilgrims on route to Spain, & close to a quiet country road so are easy to find.
I am an expat Scot of Italian descent who moved to SW France some time ago. It's great!
St Colomb de Lauzun is a small hamlet, 10 minutes from Eymet. The nearest restaurants, bar and grocery store are at Lauzun (2 minutes by car). The area is very safe and parking is free and I have never heard of anyone having a problem.. There are many local events held by the local community, eg our annual Easter egg hunt & the fete de St Jean which is celebrated by a bonfire & meal. We recently had an 80's disco with a fabulous Paella, which was very well attended. The local commune is very active in arranging events and once a year the Mayor invites all the local holiday makers to an aperitif and snacks. Every Saturday, Lauzun offer the 'Tables Gourmands', as well as other events, Fireworks in July.and the Casconade ( a giant street party), meal & entertainment, in mid August. For those of you who like a good rummage, vide greniers, take place every weekend in the summer and there are plenty of markets to visit. We are ideally situated to visit the local bastide towns and pretty villages, of which there are many. Not too mention wine tasting!
