Company info

Dominic from Wales is passionate when it comes to hospitality and the mountains. He gets great satisfaction making sure his guests have a wonderful trip, be it just one night or two weeks. He is an ex ski instructor and has had over 15 years experience in the chalet industry. He has 3 cats who live outside the property. If you need any local tips then he is always happy to help out.

Property info

We welcome you to the Magical Ecrins Lodge which is in a small hamlet (Les Gauchoirs) just on the edge of Ecrins National Park. The Lodge has 4 rooms and sleeps up to 12 people. The property has a shared open lounge dining area with log burner and two balconies where you can relax alone or interact with other guests. You can either book an individual room or the whole property. There is a large communal kitchen and outdoor BBQ where you can prepare meals. Tea, coffee and cereal are also included. There are a vast amount of activities in the stunning area such as: Road/mountain biking, skiing, hiking, white water rafting or being one with nature. We can assure you will be truly taken in by the lodge and the surrounding beauty where you will feel at home.

Neighborhood info

Les Gauchoirs is a very small quiet hamlet with a variation of wildlife including horses, cats, dogs and chamois. It is a walking distance to 2 beautiful lakes. You also have the rustic village of Venosc 4 km away with it's art shops, cafes and telecabine up to Les Deux Alpes. Then you have the town of Le Bourg D'Oisans which is 10 km away. This attractive town is very popular with cyclists and tourists in the Summer months. You also have Alpe d'Huez which is 19 km away. In walking distance you have the Hotel Au Bon accueil and Lauvitel Lodge where you can have lunch and dinner (please book in advance) Also a 7 minute drive away is the pretty village of Venosc where you can find Le Cours de la Vie, Le Dolilou and La Coopérative (please book in advance) You also have the town of Le Bourg D'Oisans with a good selection of restaurants. From Ecrins Lodge you can walk or cycle along the Veneon river either towards Venosc or towards Le Bourg D'Oisans. You also have the whole of the stunning Ecrins National Park to explore.
