We fell in love with France many years ago and in particular the beautiful department of the Cote d’Armor. Some years ago, we decided to buy a holiday home in France. We knew that we would be taking early retirement, and looked for a property that would enable us to embark on a second career. As one of our favourite things is to meet new people and old friends we wanted to find somewhere suited to creating gites in France, and share it with friends new and old. Our intention was to create a peaceful and luxurious environment where couples, friends or families could have a great self catering holiday in France and like us, fall in love with this lovely part of Brittany. We wanted to create self catering holiday cottages, which we felt would be great for family friendly holidays in Brittany. We found Lec’h Pouder which is the name of the original farm. We discovered that the property, with some parts dating back to the 16th century was a building of historic importance and listed as a ‘Batiment de France’. The property is built around a large courtyard. The holiday cottages are renovated from an old barn and longere opposite the main house.

Located near to the 'Pink Granite Coast', charming villages and beautiful countryside makes 'Gites du Manoir the ideal place for gites to rent in Brittany. In 2011 we retired and moved to France to start our new adventure. It has been a wonderful experience and we have found the Breton people to be warm and welcoming, especially when trying to decipher the endless forms and paperwork involved in renovating a listed building. Lec’h Pouder sits in three acres of land. There is a small apple orchard and ancient cider press. It therefore seemed appropriate to name our gites after types of Breton cider apples.

We are set in a tranquil stress free and rural location, a short drive to local amenities. Fabulous beaches and the famous Pink Granite Coast are 20 minutes away. Fantastic area for walking and sightseeing Hundreds of historic monuments and churches. Great markets and brocantes. Many activities from golf to kyacking. Michelin star food or simple gallettes so much to choose.
