'1786' is a beautiful stone house in the heart of Gascony. It is packed with features and comforts. Lots of dining and lounging areas, music, films, thousands of books, 42' TV, computer, iPod dock. In the kitchen, a washing machine and dishwasher, food processor, Nespresso coffee machine. Wide, bi fold doors open onto the courtyard where there's rattan seating bedecked with cushions and a spa.
We live in Essex now but spent 13 years in the Tarn et Garonne and fell in love with the area. Jenny is a writer and Phee sells property. Flint is an artist and student. When we viewed '1786', initially for a friend, we were speechless. We knew we wanted to own it, restore it and keep it forever. So when our friend was not able to make the move, we jumped at the chance to be part of '1786'. The grand séjour with mezzanine is unlike any property we have ever seen. My stomach still turns over when I enter that room and I cannot quite believe it is now finished!
We live about ten minutes from Auvillar, one of the most beautiful villages in France, on the St Jean de Compostelle route.
