La Chaumine is in the stunning village of Montriond, with a 2-minute walk to the heart of the village which hosts a small Supermarket, Post Office, Tourist Office, Ski and Bike Hire shop and 3 main Bar/Restaurants. Montriond is a small village in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The centre of Morzine is just over a mile away which can be easily reached on foot/bus or car. Morzine has many bars and restaurants plus boutique shops and bakery’s, which attracts many international travelers every year. Montriond is situated within the Portes du Soleil Ski Region, with a vast area to Ski or Snowboard in winter but also to bike or walk in the summer. The area includes Les Gets which is 5.4 miles away (12 mins by car). Morzine which is 1 mile away (5 mins by car). You can also ski or snowboard over to Switzerland. The Ski Region of Portes du Soleil covers 12 resorts with just one pass. There is a free ski bus that can either take you from Montriond to the Ardent Lift, with access to Avoriaz and Morzine. The bus can also take you into and out of Morzine. The lifts at Ardent are much quieter than Morzine but you can still access the majority of resorts from this lift. We are only a 5 minute’s drive from the beautiful Lake Montriond, where you can swim or kayak in summer. There is a walking trail around the circumference of the lake. It is approx. a 45-minute walk from La Chaumine to the lake. You can also get the bus up to the lake.
