Situated in the grounds of Chateau Mirabel in Occitanie,. The swimming pool is shared with the guests of our other gite Petite Mirabel (sleeps 6), so there will only ever be a maximum of 10 guests using the pool if both gites are let and at maximum capacity. The house is situated in the golden triangle of Toulouse, Albi and Carcassonne. Conveniently located 2km from the historic town of Puylaurens with all amenities (weekly market, two supermarkets, boulangeries, delicatessen, pharmacist etc.) this house provides the perfect base for exploring the local area and beyond. International Airports at Toulouse (50 minutes) and Carcassonne (1 hour) and from Castres (30 minutes) daily flights to and from Paris. Narbonne 1 ½ hours. Barcelona 4 hours

In addition to popular tourist destinations like Toulouse, Albi, Carcassonne, and Castelnaudary, there are so many nearby towns and villages worth visiting, all within a 30-minute drive. In addition to its famous rugby club, Castres boasts beautiful squares, elegant buildings, and an authentic French atmosphere, from the covered market to the myriad of flea markets and cafés. Alternatively, the village of Lautrec, perched atop a hill, is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France, and you’ll enjoy exploring its winding cobblestone streets and learning more about its famous pink garlic. Not far from there, in the well-preserved village of Soreze, at the foot of the Montagnes Noires, you’ll find not one but two fascinating museums. Alternatively, head north to the historic town of Lavaur, where you’ll find beautiful streets and breathtaking views, as well as the Musée du Pays de Cocagne, where, many years ago, artefacts from Château Mirabel were donated to preserve them for future generations. The famous bastide town of Revel is nearby, and its Saturday market is renowned (look for local artisan producers in the covered market).
