We've created our gîte with love, care & attention to decor and amenities so that it feels like a cosy home away from home. The independent apartment is located on the SECOND FLOOR of our home (accessible by stairs only) with wonderful views overlooking the Tarn river and Le pont de Rabastens. The light & spacious apartment with exposed beams & vaulted ceilings has an open-planned living & dining area with a separate bathroom & large bedroom. There are plenty of comfortable areas to relax & unwind plus a small balcony, the perfect place for having a coffee, glass of wine or simply enjoying the view. The salon has a smart TV with Netflix, TV digibox with international channels & radio, plus a DVD player and a selection of DVDs. Books, games, jigsaws & art materials are also there to enjoy. There is a well-equipped kitchen and generous sized dining area. The kitchen includes: induction hob, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso machine, cafetière, kettle, toaster. A separate laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer & ironing facilities is also available. The beautifully tiled bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a sink with unit, toilet, heated towel rail and storage space for toiletries. Towels are provided. The spacious bedroom with large double bed has a stylish yet relaxed feel, with an eclectic mix of vintage, rustic and contemporary elements. There is a large clothes rail, chest of drawers, cupboard for storage plus an air-conditioning unit.
We are Christophe & Trevor, two former teachers of art & music, who decided to relocate from London and settle in the Occitanie region. We look forward to welcoming you at Le Petit Balcon Bleu.
Le Petit Balcon Bleu, Rabastens, is located on the remparts of the historic château district with its charming, winding streets, red brick houses & views of the Tarn. The apartment is within easy reach of the town's amenities; shops, restaurants, cafés, boulangeries, parking, banks, cinema & lively Saturday market. Just five minutes walk away is Rabastens beach, the perfect place to refresh, relax & unwind. Close by, is the fascinating Musée du Pays Rabastinois & the church of Notre Dame du Bourg, a UNESCO World Heritage destination on the Santiago de Compostela (Pilgrim's Way), France. Rabastens is also the perfect location to enjoy walking, hiking & cycling, or exploring the vineyards & wine making heritage of south-west France, notably Gaillac AOC, whose wine making traditions are amongst some of the oldest in France. There are many lovely villages & towns nearby; Girroussens, famous for its potters, Centre Céramique Contemporaine & Jardins des Martels; the bastide town of Lisle-sur-Tarn in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards, home of the Musée Raymond Lafarge, Musée du Chocolat & Sunday market; Gaillac, with its history of wine making, museums, good choice of restaurants & Friday market. Visit the stunning fortified towns & medieval villages of Cordes sur Ciel, Castelnau-de-Montmiral, Puycelsi & Penne. The route is a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the region as it passes though valleys & forests, and crosses vineyards & glorious fields of sunflowers. Le Petit Balcon Bleu is situated in the, 'golden triangle', between Toulouse, Albi & Montauban and is the ideal location to discover the history, culture & beauty of the Tarn region.
