Property info

The cottages are situated in the grounds of the Auberge de l'Arac, located in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Arac. In the last century the building was used for making cheese and the old stable block was converted into 4 self-contained cottages, each decorated in an eclectic style. All have stunning views over the river and individual private gardens, securely enclosed for your dog's safety, Gite Libellule will be fully enclosed for summer 2026. We encourage you to bring your dogs to enjoy some of the most stunning walks and cycle routes in the Pyrenees. In summer, it is a short drive to amazing caves and sports facilities such as kayaking, caving, climbing, paragliding and, of course, plenty of hiking trails. In winter, we are near a magnificent ski resort (40 minutes away), snowshoeing trails and stunning scenery. We are a few minutes' drive from the UNESCO-listed site of St-Lizier, with its stunning cathedrals and beautiful architecture. We are a short distance from the spa town of Alus-les-Bains and the medieval walled town of Mirepoix.

Neighborhood info

We are near the GR10, the trans-Pyrenean hike. The Saint Girons market is famous in the area with over 150 producers and it is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning all year round. You'll also find smaller markets most days in the surrounding villages. In the summer, you can experience village life, as there's a party with music, delicious food, and other entertainment most weekends. Our onsite restaurant is open for home-cooked menus at lunch and dinner. This includes vegetarian options. Opening hours do vary throughout the year. Please contact us for more information.
