Fabulous family apartment in Luchon Gorgeous two-bed family apartment located in the heart of Luchon, just a one-minute walk from the main street Allées d'Étigny and seven minutes on foot to the cable car which takes you directly to Superbagnères ski resort in eight minutes (in both summer and winter). A home from home, everything is new and designed to accommodate a family of 7, but it can sleep 11 as there is a sofa bed in the lounge and a couple of decent fold-up beds with mattresses for use if required. There is also a baby cot.

We looked for almost a year before falling in love with this apartment in Luchon. It was a "coup de coeur" from the moment we walked through the door. We wanted a place in the mountains so that our three young kids (2, 3.5 and 5.5) could get closer to nature, explore hidden lakes, and learn about hiking, cycling, skiing and rafting during their childhood. Up until now we've found going away with the kids hard work because places are always under equipped. Holidays should be easier, not harder! So, with that in mind, we created this home from home. We love it here, can't get enough of it, and we hope you will love it too! If you're wondering why there aren't many reviews, it's because we completed the apartment sale last month and have just finished buying all the new furniture and equipment for the apartment and getting it ready for rental! The location of this apartment is just superb. It's seconds on foot to Allées d'Étigny, where it's all happening (with bars, bistros, shops and restaurants), but as it's slightly off the beaten track, it's pretty quiet at night even though you're in the middle of everything. There's plenty to do in the area, from hiking, white-water rafting and cycling in the summer to skiing, snowboarding and sledging in the winter. if you're with young kids, in summer the open-air swimming pool is a 15-minute walk, where you'll also find mini golf and a playground, or you can be in Spain at the Aran Valley animal park (which also has a petting farm) in 20 minutes by car. As well as all the restaurant choices in Luchon, foodies will love the fact that you can be savouring tapas at the nearest Spanish town of Bossòst in half an hour! Of course the town is a spa town with a thermal spa (where the French come for "the cure"), but just half-an-hour away in the next valley you can drive to Balnea, which offers arguably the best thermal spa experience in the Pyrénées (where they also welcome kids in certain areas so mum and dad can both fit in some relaxation too.)
