Maison d'Amis Des Hirondelles has an open plan kitchen, dining and; sitting room, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can sleep up to 8 people so whether you are looking for a quiet getaway for two or a holiday with family & friends, our Maison d'Amis offers you that all you need. We are installing an in-ground swimming pool ready for Summer 2023 for your private use.
Originally from Kent (UK), having spent many years commuting back and forth to London where we both had demanding careers, we decided that something had to change! So, we sold our house and took the opportunity to move to France in November 2020, rented a remote farmhouse and drove 12 hours to our new life, with Lucy the cat howling all the way! After 6 months, we set up home here in the Périgord Vert, perfectly located between Brantôme, Thiviers and Périgueux. As with every new life, there have been some challenges however we are loving our new and varied life here. Thrown into the mix, last year we welcomed Emmie into our family - our adorable and very bouncy English Springer Spaniel! ​Both Stephen and I very much look forward to welcoming you to our Maison d’Amis and hope you fall for its charms as much as have.
We are located in a pretty hamlet close to the village of St-Jean-de-Côle, which is one of only 156 members of Les Plus Beaux Villages, meaning "the most beautiful villages of France". ​Also in St-Pierre-de-Côle, a 5 minute drive from us, you will find the local boulangerie, mini supermarket, restaurant, post office and tennis courts. The Périgord Vert is a region with outstanding beauty, stunning undulating countryside and steeped in history. Here, there is something for everyone be it a gentle stroll around a lake, mountain biking, horse riding, golf or simply sitting in a French café with a coffee watching the world go by. We are perfectly located between Brantôme, Thiviers and Périgueux. Thiviers received the accolade of “Best Market in Aquitaine” for 2022 and is a food lover’s paradise specialising in organic produce. Brantôme is stunningly beautiful and best known as the Venice of Perigord Vert whilst Périgueux is unquestionably a beautiful town to explore and lose yourself in the culture and experience.
