At Altquhur Byre you will find a Self-Catering Cottage and a Bed & Breakfast both converted from outbuildings on a farm, directly on the West Highland Way and one mile from the picturesque village of Drymen, Loch Lomond. We have two comfortable en-suite bedrooms in the main Byre and a fully self contained cottage with private entrance, parking and garden. Altquhur Byre is situated on Gartness Road which is a single track country lane with beautiful varied hedgerows, wild flowers and incredible views across the Campsie Fells, Luss Hills and Loch Lomond. The West Highland Way passes the Byre so it’s a perfect place to stop and rest weary legs after a long days’ walk. Our rooms have views over the farm fields and horse-riding arena, garden and traditional farm yard. Each Bed & Breakfast room has a large and modern en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, a flat screen TV, desk, chairs and a tea tray with tea, coffee and home-made cakes or biscuits. At the Bed & Breakfast we serve a delicious breakfast – Continental Buffet on week day mornings and a full Scottish Breakfast at weekends. Pizzas are available for guests who would like to stay in and relax. These are home made with a 5 hour fermented dough, marinara sauce a choice of toppings. Packed lunches can be ordered the night before. Vegan and vegetarian options are available for all meals. At Altquhur Byre we love pets and have 2 dogs of our own; a labrador and a beagle, and there are 2 dogs living at the house next door; a golden retreiver and a gordon setter. Expect cuddles on arrival! Unfortunately we can’t acommodate dogs in the Bed & Breakfast but they are very welcome to stay with us in Altquhur Cottage.

Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park has something for everyone with fantastic routes for walking, hill walking, running, cycling, climbing and wild swimming. For keen walkers; the West Highland Way passes Altquhur Byre and the John Muir Way is a 5 minute walk away.
