In the grounds of Ardmore House B&B, nestled in its own garden, the Shepherd’s Hut is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day in the great outdoors. With views over a woodland and comfy outdoor seating, the hut’s private south-facing garden is perfect for having a picnic in or enjoying a coffee in the morning. The hut is self-catered with a fully equipped kitchenette, breakfast bar, sofa, double bed and full sized ensuite shower room/ WC, you will find everything you need for your stay inside. We provide luxurious cotton bed linen, towels, Arran Aromatics shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We also provide a few essentials in the kitchen such as oil, salt and pepper, milk, sugar, tea and coffee, washing up liquid, tea towels etc. There is plenty of parking on site in our large private car park.
The hut is situated just 1.5 miles (a 5 minute drive) from the village of Lochinver and 1.5 miles from the stunning Achmelvich beach known for its white sand and turquoise water. You can always refuel at the Achmelvich Shore Chip Shop and enjoy a fish supper beside the sea. Lochinver offers a wide range of places to eat and drink. For lunch time bites to eat there are a few local cafes Driftwood, Inbhir Brunches, Lochinver Larder (Pie Shop), An Cala Café, which serve delicious homemade food such as soups, sandwiches, burgers, coffee, tea, cakes and much more. There are lovely local restaurants available for dinner such as Delilah’s and Peets, however it is best to book these in advance as they do get very busy! Further afield there are fine dining restaurants with stunning views. Kylesku Hotel which is a 30-minute drive away specialises in local seafood and Newton Lodge their sister hotel specialises in local game dishes. Slightly further north you will find Scourie, a village with stunning views out to sea. Here you can pick up a lovely takeaway lunch at the Crofter’s Kitchen specialising in locally caught seafood and game (think venison burgers, lobster, oyster, scallop dishes). Furthermore, you can get a delicious takeaway fish and chip dinner here from The Fish Box Scourie.
